Hyatt Diamond Status has always been quite the intriguing benefit attached to the Chase Hyatt Credit Card and there are some ways to earn this status such as completing 25 paid stays or 50 paid nights. Points + Cash Stays are valid, on the other hand, award stays aren’t eligible.
There’s times where new Hyatt would also offer a Diamond Fast Track challenge where after only 12 qualifying nights within 60 days you can achieve Diamond status, but lets face it, Diamond status could be quite the far-fetched for some of us that can’t hold 25-50 nights on end. Hyatt Diamond Benefits W/Out Status:
Let’s say you’re a stays away from getting Diamond Status and you won’t be able to achieve Diamond Status. There’s good news for you then because you can earn Diamond perks without having to achieve the 25-50 stays necessary for Diamond Elite.
-
Guest of Honor:
The most reliable way to get Diamond benefits without the status is to take advantage of Hyatt’s Guest of Honor Program. If you currently have a friend with Hyatt Diamond Status, willing to book an award stay for you, you’ll receive all the benefits of Diamond during your stay. Of course, this isn’t very beneficial for your friend, emphasizing the term “willing,” because while that could be great for you, there’s a good chance that your friend won’t be appeased primarily due to the fact that the points will come out of your friend’s Hyatt account.
Now, giving the benefit of the doubt, Hyatt lets members transfer points to others, for free. All you have to do is fill out Hyatt’s Point Combining Request Form and email it to [email protected]. Keep in mind that there’s slight restriction regarding transfers; you can only transfer or receive points once every 30 days.
-
Club Lounge Access:
There are other options if you don’t have a friend with Diamond status, or you don’t have enough points to book a full award stay. If specifically just looking to get club lounge access, you can always book a club award stay or book a paid stay and use your points to upgrade. Keep in mind that Hyatt charges 3,000 Points per night to add club access to your paid stay.
-
Suite Stays:
If you’re specifically looking to stay in a suite, you can always book a Suite award stay, minimum of 3 nights or book a paid stay and use points to upgrade. Keep in mind that Hyatt charges 6,000 points per night to upgrade your paid stay. If you’re booking through their Guest of Honor Program, and you’re looking into a Suite Stay, you can also If a have your Diamond friend book a suite award for you. Keep in mind that Suite awards cost 60% more points than standard room awards, which I don’t necessarily recommend, but if suites are really necessary for you, then by all means, take advantage of this option.
Final Analysis:
Stay in the know with Diamond Perks without the Status. That’s right, you can earn Diamond perks without the status when you take advantage of Hyatt’s Guest Honor Program. Of course, if you’re specifically looking to access Club Lounge or Suites stay, you can always book utilizing your awards stay or paid stay with an upgrade. Again, this is specifically for those that won’t be able to make Diamond Status within the given year; If you’re eligible for Diamond status, then by all means, I urge you to take advantage of the Hyatt’s benefits.
If you’re looking to achieve full Diamond Status, then I also recommend that you be on the look out for Hyatt’s Diamond Fast Track Challenge, which would make achieving elite so much more quicker.
