As we peak into 2017, it seems that American Express has been making some moves in expanding their Corporate Advantage Program, with the intentions of providing individuals working at large corporations with American Express corporate cards more targeted sign-up bonuses on their personal cards. The program currently has the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express and Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express enrolled. Essentially, the Lifetime Rule doesn’t apply to personal cards.

Eligibility for Corporate Advantage Program:
This program is only available to corporate card holding employees, expansion may be possible in the future. All employees with a Corporate Card will be offered the same offer. Your corporate Card number will be required at the time of application. It’s necessary to keep in mind that if you already have the mentioned cards above, you would need to re-apply for the card to take advantage of the offer. Also, if you have no credit history, but you meet all the necessary eligibility requirements, you will still be able to get approved for these offers. It’s a necessity that you provide SSN.
Application Analysis:
You can apply here for the Premier Rewards Gold and the Blue Cash Preferred. American Express does review your credit bureau report and any information on your credit report may be used towards final decisions. After you have applied and have been approved, you will receive the card within a week from when you applied. Note that getting the card through this program WILL NOT impact your corporate card in any way.
On your Premier Rewards Gold, you will be able to earn Membership Rewards points if you earn MR points on your already existing corporate card. This program will not have any hinderance on your Card Membership Rewards Program. Keep in mind that you must still pay the required fees to earn points on the corporate card, employer or employee.
If you leave the company your Corporate card was under, you will still be able to retain and use the card, however, you will not be eligible for any promotional annual credit once your Corporate Card is no longer active.
The first statement credit will be applied within 8 weeks of your account opening and the second within 8 weeks following the first anniversary date of the Card account. Your account MUST BE active and in good standing to receive statement credit for the first and second years of card membership.
Blue Cash Preferred from American Express Features:
- Earn a $100 statement credit each of your first two years
- Plus, earn $300 back after you spend $1,000 in purchases on the Card in your first 3 months of Card Membership
- Everyday Cash Back: 6% at U.S. supermarkets on up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1%); 3% at U.S. gas stations; 1% on other purchases. Terms and limitations apply.
- No rotating reward categories. No enrollment required.
- Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit. You can only earn cash back on eligible purchases.
- $95 Annual Fee.
Premier Rewards Gold from American Express Features:
- $200 statement credit each of your first two years
- Plus, earn 50,000 points after you spend $2,000 in purchases on the Card in your first 3 months of Card Membership
- $100 airline fee credit

Conclusion:
The American Express Corporate Advantage Program seems to be an amazingly attractive opportunity for those employees with a Corporate Card. Considering that you can get a Blue Cash Preferred for $100 statement credit for each of the first two years of card membership on top of $300 back after your spend $1,000 in purchases within 3 months of card membership or take advantage of the Premier Rewards Gold for $200 in statement credit each of your first two years on top of 50,000 MR for a $2,000 spend in 3 months of card membership + $100 Airline fee credit.
