American Express released a new card not too long ago coined the American Express Cobalt™ Card with a chance to earn a total of 40,000 Membership Rewards Points. Here’s how it works: Earn 10,000 MR points when you spend a total of $3,000 in purchases in your first 3 months. You’ll also earn 2,500 Membership Rewards points for each monthly billing period in which you spend $500 in purchases on your Card (capped at 30,000 MR). This card earns 5x the points on eligible “eats & drinks,” 2x the points on eligible travel & transit, and 1x the points on everything else. The card is unveils some slight difference to standard credit cards out there as it charges a $10 monthly fee.
Editor’s Note: The Cobalt Card is currently only available to Australia residents. There’s a possibility that this card could expand in Canada’s market before entry into the United States market. Fingers crossed since this card has some refreshing perks and benefits!

Conclusion:
The new American Express Cobalt™ Card shows quite the promising aspects, especially if it was to be introduced to the states, however it’s not. Residents of Australia will be the first to grab this card. Canada will likely receive a trial and if the trial goes smoothly, it could hit US markets, however, odds of that happening anytime soon could be next to none.
