Through time-in and time-out, I’ve constantly reminded y’all readers to reap the Chase Price Protection benefit, or the underdog of cardholder benefits. Well, Chase recently sent out mail certificate forms that you must review and take into full consideration prior to signing (with a pen).
Chase affirms that such a step or procedure would be necessary to reduce potential fraud associated with the Price Protection benefit, however, it would seem to make more sense that they’re taking such steps to avoid from people utilizing websites with automated price protection for credit cards and this would significantly decrease the number of claims that Chase gets per calendar year.

Chase Price Protection New Requirements:
- Attestations forms will be mailed to you
- Once acknowledge, you must sign the form with a pen
Sites that do Automated Price Protection notifications:
There are some pretty low-key sites or apps out there that email you in regards to a price change within a product you’ve recently purchased. This is considered as a “automated price protection.” Keyword you typically have to find is “Automatic Refunds From Hidden Credit Card Benefit.”
Conclusion:
Chase Price Protection benefit is perhaps one of the most overlooked card benefits that I urge everyone to take advantage of for some quick $25~ rebate, however, if Chase plans to send out attestment mail for every claim, this would make the process for getting rebated so much more exhausting and the fact that they already have a “mailing in 7 to 10 days” terminology attached, it makes me debate just how often I’ll use such a benefit. Presumably enough, this could be because of automated price protection or hidden benefit activator apps like Earny. I really do hope to see more data on this subject.
