As far as the United MileagePlus Awards Card goes, it seems like you’re stuck in the middle of two extremes with the Explorer and the no annual fee variant. This card offers “increased award inventory” and the ability to bring a full-sized carry on bag opposed to the no annual fee variant, which I don’t necessarily agree paying a $60 annual fee for and with the Explorer, you’ll be getting 2x the points on United, two club passes and free checked bags all at a $95 annual fee, not waived for the first year.
It’d make more sense going for the United MileagePlus Explorer. Also, it’s been reported that the increased award inventory perk has been offered on the no annual fee card, currently unknown as to why though.
