The LINE DC radiates an undeniably cool vibe from the moment you arrive there with their awe-inspiring neoclassical façade. Large copper doors gives a spacious lobby with 60-foot vaulted ceilings. Additionally, the use of the originals church’s decor was prominent, with organ pipes repurposed into a grand chandelier, mahogany pews utilized for lobby seating, and hotel directions displayed on hymnal boards. The property also boasted more than 3,000 pieces of art by local artists, of which 90% were by women. From photography by Chis Chen to sculptures by Kathryn Zarema and murals by Rose Jaffe. Art is infused into every corner.
Rooms
All 220 rooms and suites at the LINE DC are super stylish and luxuriously comfortable. The bright and airy Landmark King Room feels like a hip apartment with wood floors, industrial-chic brass fixtures, a vintage nightstand, retro radio, hardcover books and live plants. The color scheme featured white and browns with pops of faded yellow. The bathroom is furnished with a large shower and handmade, small-batch bath products.
Facilities
The most exciting hotel amenity is the community podcast network and radio station, it broadcasts live from the lobby. We are able to stream 30 weekly programs in the room for free. Another unique amenity is the roaming bar cart between 4pm and 7pm, offering made-to-order specialty cocktails right in your room. at the front door, we are whisked inside and led to the font desk for check-in. You can see that the staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and refreshingly laidback. Especially the servers at Brothers & Sisters. Since employees dress like patrons, it’s a little hard to see who was working.
Location
The LINE DC is in Adams Morgan, a vibrant and diverse neighborhood known for their eclectic restaurants, bars, and vintage shops. If you want to visit the main attractions, take the metro from either Woodley Park or Columbia Heights. Both are less than 15 minutes away on food. You can also get on a bus right outside the hotel.
