Discover just introduced a new redemption options for cardholders who use Apple Pay, here’s what you should expect: If you are a Discover cardholder, you’ll be able to use your Apple Pay to check and spend your cashback balance to pay for everyday items. Just an added sense of convenience for cardholders, I’m assuming. Paying with Apple PayTM is easy. Using it with Discover allows you to earn rewards on every purchase – just as you would with your card.

How to Add Your Discover Card to Apple Pay
- On iPhone® just open the Wallet app and tap the plus sign. From there, follow the onscreen instructions.

The best way to make sure you don’t miss out on the extra rewards is to make Discover your default card in Apple Pay.
Here’s how to do it:
- Go to Settings on your device
- Select Wallet & Apple Pay
- Tap Default card

Not exactly understanding the functionality here as you can already redeem your points as statement credit. I assume the added ‘redemption option’ allows you to redeem your points at the time of purchase or allows for adjusted convenience within that spectrum.
