Makara Features
Makara is a Seattle-based investment advisor that is registered with the SEC. The company is set to launch automated services in crypto investments.
Designed with crypto newbies in mind, Makara offers seven index-like allocations, called “baskets” to invest with. These baskets are made up of different cryptocurrencies, where investors allocate money into a basket. Plus, these baskets are auto-rebalanced, based on market conditions and the themes and parameters set for each basket.
Furthermore, Makara provides self-serve content about cryptocurrencies and the industry, so you can have a deeper understanding of digital assets.
Makara is powered by custodian Gemini, and the digital assets based on basket’s parameters are bought and stored in the investor’s segregated account. The company will handle transaction reporting for tax preparation.
Makara Pricing & Fees
Makara will charge a 1% management fee with an annual fee (TBA) as well. This fee structure is higher than established robo-advisors like Betterment and Wealthfront. This is where you’ll start with an annual advisory fee of just 0.25%.
