Nice summary of the new NFCU card. You’ve provided more detail about the new card than any other internet posting to date. Are these details from NFCU, or are you merely making assumptions based on their past practices? The devil, of course, is in the details. The virtues of flat rate 2% earnings can be quickly negated in the redemption process as we have already seen in NFCU’s Flagship Rewards card where a point turns out to be less than a penny in value. Amex is also known for redemption schemes in which the full value of points is only available through travel redemptions, and cash back redemptions are at only 50 percent of point value. Do you have any information on such issues? By the way, thanks for recognizing that neither NFCU nor Amex have a history of simple, easy to use rewards programs with the exception of the wonderful, but now outdated NFCU cashRewards.
